The Nutcracker is reinvented this holiday season as the City Ballet of Los Angeles sets the famous Tchaikovsky ballet in a 1940′s swing-era production at the Wilshire Ebell Theatre. Another creative production by the City Ballet, set in one of the most beautiful and iconic buildings in L.A. -- a beautiful celebration of the holidays! The Sugar Plum Fairy and the Nutcracker will still be dancing, but the traditional ballet will be re-imagined to bring new life to the much-loved Tchaikovsky piece.
The City Ballet of Los Angeles is a professional ballet company that reaches a large number of communities across greater LA to nurture promising young dancers from diverse socio-economic and racial backgrounds.
“The Nutcracker Swings” will be danced Friday, Dec 21st at 7 pm and Saturday, Dec 22nd for a matinee show at 1 pm.
