The West Adams Heritage Association is hosting a tour of some of the grandest homes of the West Adams Heights area on Saturday, June 6, 2015 from 10am – 4 pm. The Rindge Mansion, home of actress Hattie McDaniel, who played Mammy in “Gone with the Wind” will be open to the public for the first time. West Adams Heights was developed at the turn of the century for wealthy Angelenos, and many homes were built by renowned architects.
The tour is self-guided walking tour, named the“Heights of Elegance,”will benefit the WAHA Preservation Fund, which promotes historical landmarking and cultural heritage programs in the area.
Tickets are $35, and may be purchased online or at the door. The tour will begin at 2263 S. Harvard Blvd, Los Angeles, CA 90018. Please note that no tickets will be sold after 1 pm.
